Most people ask me about Egypt from a distance.
They have seen the photos. They know someone who went once. Then comes the question no photo answers: is it safe, and who is looking after us when we land?
In August I stopped answering that by email and flew to Las Vegas.

A Red Sea operator in the Nevada desert sounds odd until you see who was in the room.
Las Vegas has one of the most organized group-travel cultures in the US. People there travel together and book years ahead. That is exactly who takes a whole boat.
The evening was with Vegas Girl Events — a community Angelina Florczyk started in 2021, now around 81,000 women. Brunches, mixers, events across the city. Next up: Egypt, 2028.
The questions
What people actually ask
I came ready to talk about the Red Sea. Reefs, dolphins, morning light on the water. We got there. Just not first.
Egypt sells itself. What people want to know is who is looking after them once they land.
They asked practical things. Who is with the group on the ground. What the week looks like if you would rather snorkel than dive — or stay dry. How forty people pay for something together. How early you have to book. And safety, which comes up every time, and should.
Good questions. By the end of the night it was clear they were not deciding whether to go. They were working out how.
That is the difference between an operator and a booking site. Boreas works in Egypt itself. Our team is in Hurghada and Marsa Alam. Bookings go through our licensed French agency under APST guarantee. The people answering questions now are the ones meeting the group at the airport — nobody gets handed to a third party after the deposit.
You are not picking a cabin. You are picking who you travel with.
Egypt is two trips. Most people take one.
Cairo, Giza, the museum, Luxor. People see it, they are moved, they fly home.
The other half is the coast. A few hours’ drive from the Nile valley. Most groups never get there.
We build it as one trip. Monuments first, then east to the sea. Same operator, same team, one itinerary — so the coast is not a second holiday you organize twice.
I am the second generation of my family working with liveaboards here, and a dive instructor myself. The sea is not an add-on to Egypt for me. It shouldn’t be for a group either.
Why a community takes the whole boat
A hotel puts your group in a building with two hundred strangers.
Take the whole vessel and the week is yours. Which sites, in what order, when dinner is, whether the morning starts early or does not start at all. The organizer tells us what the group wants. We build around it.

And they already know each other. That changes a trip more than any facility does.
Mixed groups are normal for us. No certification needed — coral here grows near the surface, so snorkelers see the same reef. PADI guides for anyone diving. Spa, yoga and deck for anyone who’d rather stay dry.
Planning 2028 in 2026
Sounds far off. For a holiday it would be.
For a whole boat it is simply how it works — dates run out before seats do. So we hold the date early, build the itinerary with the organizer over the following months, and the group gets a long runway to sort payment and time off.

The best trips I have been part of were planned by people who were not in a hurry.
I flew home thinking about how little of that night was actually about Egypt. Egypt does not need me to sell it.
What a group needs is someone who picks up the phone, is there when they land, and knows the coast well enough to move the boat when the wind changes.
